Nakama

Nakama is a five-piece band led by Norwegian bass player Christian Meaas Svendsen. The group was founded in 2015 and has already released five uncompromising albums on their own label Nakama Records, and toured extensively in Europe and Asia. The music draws influences from modern contemporary music and various kinds of traditional music from around the world. Amidst concepts and written structures, stoic ballads and high octane energy bursts the players are left with plenty of room for individual expression and collective improvisation. It is a beautiful mash-up pf lyricism, prose and nonfiction written in an incomprehensible yet accessible language. Nakama is what it is, and Nakama is:

Andreas Hoem Røysum - clarinet, guitar
Klaus Holm - clarinet, saxophone
Ayumi Tanaka - piano
Andreas Wildhagen - drums
Christian Meaas Svendsen - bass, compositions
